Dave White donates to WellChild auction
WellChild’s Helping Hands sale and unique collection of contemporary art is now live to browse and place max bids before the auction in London later this month.
Working with international artists for over 30 years, Creative Director Chris Westbrook has carefully curated donations by more than 40 of the biggest names in the contemporary art world, including Dave White, Antony Gormley, Tracey Emin, Harland Miller, Marc Quinn and Anish Kapoor.
Their work will be sold at an exclusive, invitation-only event at Christie’s on October 28, with all profits helping to fund WellChild’s work to provide further support to the growing population of children and young people with serious health needs.
The auction will also include photography by children and young people supported by WellChild, including a painting by renowned Syrian artist Sara Shamma that incorporates a drawing by Dylan, an 11-year-old with cerebral palsy, cortical blindness and global development delay.
Other auction highlights include Dave White’s 'Flamingo I' stunning oil painting that has been created especially for WellChild and has an estimated value of £20,000-£30,000.
A three-hour photographic experience with Rankin, one of Britain’s most prolific fashion and portrait photographers, will also see the auction winner invited to his North London studio for a one-hour glam session before going in front of the lens with Rankin himself.
Colin Dyer, WellChild CEO, said: “WellChild has an ambitious target that every seriously ill child or young person in the UK should have access to the support they need to be able to thrive at home with their families. We are therefore overwhelmed by the support of the art world and the artists donating their fascinating work to the WellChild Helping Hands Auction. Their contributions will enable WellChild to have a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of children and their families.”
