Mr White will see you now

POSTED: Wednesday, March 25, 2020

With home schooling now the norm for many of you, you’re not alone if you’re desperately looking for ways to keep the kids busy after Joe Wick’s PE session is over. Fortunately, your new substitute art teacher is here… please welcome Mr White.

Hoping to inspire all those budding artists out there, contemporary British artist Dave White is running a weekly competition to get your kids drawing – and hopefully allow you to take that Zoom call in peace.

If that wasn’t enough, the weekly winner will get to enjoy an hour-long art class (via FaceTime, Zoom or Skype) with the acclaimed artist himself, which he promises will be “super easy and loads of fun” and mums and dads can join in with, if they wish. A grand prize winner will also be picked from all the entries received throughout the duration of the competition to win one of White’s own prints.

So, what do your little darlings need to do to get an hour with Mr White?

He’d like their amazing drawings or paintings emailed to info@davewhiteart.com in a JPEG or similar small size file with the name of the budding artist (under 18s only) and guardian. Alternatively, his Instagram DMs are open to entries too. Send over those creations by midnight (PT) every Tuesday and winners will be announced every Wednesday.

Dave’s love of animals is legendary, so for his first competition it’s not surprising that he asked for four-legged friends, insects and birds etc. Check his Instagram on Fridays for the next week’s subject. Over 18s, keep a look out for something exciting coming soon, too.

In the meantime, enjoy some of week one’s incredible entries below:
