The Car Girl: From Classic Cars to Contemporary Art

TheArtGorgeous, July 11, 2017

Born into a car-obsessed family, Juliette Loughran worked for her father’s business selling high-end cars, before setting up her own art gallery that ‘roams’ some of London’s most culturally vibrant areas.

Founded by Juliette Loughran in 2013, her gallery was launched through an ambitious series of pop-up shows that harnessed the eclectic energy of London at various cultural landmarks in the city; from a converted shipping container in Shoreditch to an award-winning complex on the South Bank. This fresh approach to exhibiting contemporary art caught the attention of collectors and press alike.

A collector herself, Juliette is known for her discriminate eye for high quality art. Her private collection spans works from Harland Miller or Chris Levine to Damien Hirst and Jonathan Yeo…

A chat about the art hubLondon, Boyfriend jeans and net-a-Porter as guilty pleasure.

In the art world currently I find most exciting that…

It’s so unpredictable, I love that you could uncover an artist half way across the world just by scrolling through social media. Yet on the flipside the industry is steeped in an incredible amount of history, the mix of the two will forever keep me interested.

Number of unanswered mails in your account…

Fifteen.

My perfect working outfit…

Boyfriend jeans and a cute blouse or a summer dress and sandals.

My favourite new brand discovery…

Moon Juice. It’s this amazing wellness boutique in LA full of the most delicious food that’s really healing and nourishing for the body. You can get the dusts to mix in with smoothies on net-a-porter, they have great names like Moon Dust, Spirit Dust and Dream Dust. I’m spending a little time in LA next year so I’m really excited I’ll be able to go every day! Till then I’m going to enjoy the cookbook and dusts.

A taxidermy blue tit laying on a pray book under a chandelier in a bell jar…it sounds a bit ridiculous but it’s by the artist Polly Morgan and is one of my favourite works ever.

Home with some great food, a movie and my miniature Schnauzer, Alfie.
