International Women's Day

Started by the Suffragettes in the 1900’s, with the first International Women’s Day celebrated in 1911, the 8th of March celebrates all women, everywhere.

In an age of the #MeToo and #TimesUP campaigns, global activism for women’s equality is motivating and uniting friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive and with this growing global support it’s more important than ever to continue the #PressForProgress.

We’re celebrating International Women’s Day with a nod to our female heroes; the strong, talented and inspirational artists, entrepreneurs, business women and thought leaders that we’ve been blessed to work with and all the people who support them!

In the last year we were thrilled to welcome Maddie Rose Hills into our roster of artists with her solo show Boundaries, and with work included in 45 Park Lane’s Edit of emerging artists for 2018 and collaborations with Att Pynta and Female Founders Present both artist and oeuvre continue to grow and inspire, and after the story of Malala Yousafzai struck a chord at Loughran Gallery we hosted a dinner at Daphne’s in honor of co-founder of the Malala Fund Shiza Shahid – we listened to her story and learned of Shiza’s aspirations to alter the course of our future, leveraging philanthropy, venture capital, technology, and the media to drive scalable social impact. We’ve been moved by a host of new and original works by the likes of Jessica Zoob and Corinne Dalle Ore, and humbled by artists like Chris Levine and Jonathan Yeo who champion women within thier work, but most importantly, amongst friends old and new, we’ve continued to share our passion and love of all things art with the world…

So here’s to you, our global girl gang, Happy International Women’s Day!
