There are just two days left to bid on Chris Levine: Be Light, a specially curated capsule selection of six iconic works being shown at Sotheby’s, London from 6 – 17 September.

Returning to Sotheby’s for the autumn edition of the Made in Britain Sale, Levine has curated this special showcase himself as a celebration of the multidisciplinary talents that have elevated his profile to one of Britain’s most acclaimed and innovative contemporary artists.

Featuring some of his most recognised works, the collection includes the Lightness of Being (2018), the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II that is considered to be one of the most iconic images of the 21st century. Taken from Levine’s private collection, it is the largest print of the queen ever made and has been described by the National Portrait Gallery as the most evocative image of a royal by any artist.

In last year’s September edition of Sotheby’s Made in Britain Sale, Levine’s Lightness of Being [Pink], (2015), was one of the highlight lots, surpassing its estimate at £70,000 – £100,000 and selling for £150,000.

This year’s online auction looks set be just as exciting and will also feature Levine’s unique Parabolic 1.3 [Pink] (2018), portraits of Kate Moss and Banksy, an innovative LED Blipvert sculpture, Light is Love (2018), and a stunning set of three crystal silkscreen crosses. It’s a celebration of Levine’s creative exploration across super-sensory light fields, laser projections, three-dimensional portraiture and laser-etched works on paper.
